I’ve been hesitant to post reviews, on Amazon or elsewhere, of books I’ve read. We all know that an author reviewing other authors can be a bad idea, if not public suicide. But, I love reading, even if I don’t get as much time to do it as I’d like these days, and I’d love to share the reads that have rocked my world. Let’s spread the book love, shall we?
So, in the spirit of rewarding those who have written a truly great book, I’ve decided to occasionally post reviews, provided I give the book an honest four or five stars. That way, I can still tell people about the exceptional stuff I stumble upon, and step over the piles of poop without calling attention to them. No one has to get their lucky writing underwear in knot because I didn’t like their book, because if I read it and hate it, it won’t be posted here.
I’ll keep a special, top-secret file on my mini for those steaming piles, and possibly send them to my pal, Lefty, for her amusement. 😉
So, without further ado, on to the rating system!
5 Shooters–This book is the bomb. If you don’t read it, you will someday be on your deathbed and full to bursting with a mysterious regret. Look no further; you’re going to hell for not reading this book. It’s just that freakin’ good.
4 Shooters–This book will get you high as a kite. You know you should stop reading–people need to be fed, housework needs to be done, you smell like a barnyard because you haven’t bathed in days, but you don’t care. Just one more page…
3 Shooters–Hey, we all need to escape from our lives once in a while. Unfortunately, this book failed to take you anywhere you haven’t been before, and you won’t remember it a week from now. What book was that again?
2 Shooters–Scrub your toilets. It’s time better spent.
1 Shooter–You’re dumber for having read the first chapter. Hopefully, you quit after that. If not, you probably can’t read this post.
Yes, I included an entire rating system. What, did you think–I’d only tell you what four and five were? I’m a bit too OCD to leave the rest blank, even if I don’t post the ones, twos, and threes. 🙂

Sounds like a good system to me, Kimber. I’ll look forward to reading your reviews, knowing you won’t be writing them unless you see something special on the book.
