As is usually the case with Ravenous story collections, there are a mix of any and all sexual pairings in here. The only certainty is that there are three people involved in each scenario. 😉 For my contribution, I have an FFM tale called Carrie and Bridget’s Bucket List.

How about an excerpt?

————

The nightclub was packed.  Sweaty limbs bumped and rubbed against them as they excused their way through the crowd on the main level.

“Let’s get a drink and scope the place out,” Bridget yelled over the music.  They wove toward the bar.  Two mango margaritas later, they were shuffling back through the crowd.

“I don’t see him.”  Carrie knew she sounded disappointed.  She was.  Something about the smooth-talking, skydiving jump instructor had made her melt from the moment he opened his mouth.  Sure, he was gorgeous with his too-long waves of brown hair kissed with sunshine, and those dark chocolate eyes.  His looks were almost boyish.  He had a carefree smile and dimples that took her breath away.  Oh, and she couldn’t forget the muscular body that had been pressed against her during the jump.

But, no, his physical attractiveness wasn’t what made her keep thinking about him all day.  It was—no, not his voice, but his presence.  Something about him made her legs weak, almost as if her body were trying to preserve itself—to stop her from obeying his every command.

Yet that unyielding personality, his remarkable air of authority, had gotten her out of the plane after she had balked.  Bridget, with her jump instructor Maria, was already a crimson ink splotch against the baby blue sky when Carrie had turned to Dario.

“I can’t do this,” she said.

He spoke against her ear to be heard over the plane’s engine and the air roaring past the open door.  His breath was scalding against her neck while his accent rolled over her in a sultry wave of words.  “You need to do this.  Feel that?”  He placed a palm against her stomach, and Carrie sucked in a breath.  “Yes, you are scared, but you are also excited.  You want to experience this rush.  This climax of adrenaline possessing your body.  There is nothing like it.  Let me show you how good it can be.”

And, with his hard chest at her back, she had jumped out of an airplane.

Carrie didn’t know if anything he said was actually sexual in nature.  Did he talk like that to every scared skydiving patron?  Was his meaning kinked in translation?  She only knew her cotton briefs were clinging to her crotch all the way down.  And Dario was right.  It was amazing.  Borderline orgasmic.

Sci Spanks 2014 #scifi #BDSM #stories

I’m stoked to have Leigh Ellwood here today talking about a new sci-fi story collection she’s in (along with a slew of other fabulous authors). Sci Spanks has 15 sexy tales for the awesomely low price of 99 cents. It’s a steal!

————

Hello, everybody. Leigh Ellwood here, and I’m thrilled to announce I’m part of a new anthology called Sci Spanks. This is a collection of 15 shorts on a theme – naturally science fiction with spanking. My contribution, “Skin,” came to me as I racked my brains to think of a story. A martini or two later, and it happened.

You may or may not be familiar with my work, but BDSM and kink are not sub-genres I write often. I don’t read much BDSM, just a few authors, and I know writing kink requires research so the stories are accurate and do not misrepresent the Lifestyle. Since this book deals mainly with spanking, though, I felt it was okay for me to participate. The science fiction setting allowed me a bit of creative license as well. I placed my heroine in a precarious situation where a law was accidentally broken, but her captain manages to make it easier by becoming involved in the interplanetary conflict. I don’t want to spoil it for anybody, but Sci Spanks is only 99 cents and a great collection if you enjoy light kink, other worlds, and a variety of pairings.

I invite you to preview Sci Spanks below and to drop me a line on Twitter @LeighEllwood if you have read and enjoyed it. I don’t know if I’ll write more spanking stories after this, but the feedback is good I never say never.

I am Leigh Ellwood. I write smutty stories about people who like getting naked and having sex. Some have more sex than others, some have sex with people of the same gender, some have sex with more than one person, and still others have sex with toys and things that require the use of batteries. My stories range from a few thousand words to well past 70k. My books are available at Amazon, B&N, Smashwords, Kobo, and ARe. Really, just type my name in any bookstore site and something is bound to show up.

Isn’t this delightful! Seems this collection of short stories will be coming out soon–no firm word on release date yet. I have a tale in here called Carrie & Bridget’s Bucket List. In case you’re doing the math, this was my first (written 😉 ) foray into girl on girl action–that’s right, I wrote an FFM (or is that MFF? Maybe FMF?). And I liked it! Anytime I can work a hot, yet dangerous Italian playboy in with my best girlfriends get busy fantasy, I’m a happy gal.

As with all of Ravenous’ anthologies, this contains a mix of pairings, rather like the proverbial box of chocolates.

Go ahead. Take a bite. You may be pleasantly surprised. 🙂

Interview with Author Heloise West

Today I have author Heloise West here to share about herself and her new short story release, River Gods, in the Dreamspinner anthology “Juicy Bits.”

Hi, Heloise! Thanks for stopping by with this tasty cover. 🙂

What first inspired you to write MM?

I was writing a medieval mystery and the main character is an Italian doctor—I’d spent 5 years in his odd and difficult perspective. When I wrote the sex/love scene where he and the local midwife get together, I wasn’t happy with it and started looking around at what was out there in both non-fiction writing romance and new romance fiction, and as a result, stumbled onto Erastes “Muffled Drum.” I’d read Mary Renault, but “Muffled Drum” was the one that introduced the genre to me, and the more I read, the more I wanted to write.

In the upcoming story collection Juicy Bits, you have a tale called “River Gods.” I’m so intrigued by that title. Can you tell us what a River God is and give us a blurb?

Everyone who goes to Florence visits the Piazza della Signoria, the heart of social and political life in the Renaissance. In the piazza are many statues—Michelangelo’s David used to stand there until it was moved inside to preserve it. According to Mary McCarthy’s “The Stones of Florence,” the people believed spirits inhabited their city’s statuary and that their river, the Arno, had a god. The sculptor, Ammannati, created the statue of Neptune that stands in the piazza today. In a fantastic juxtaposition of ideas, the story goes that this statue of Neptune was inhabited by the Arno river god who had been turned into a statue because “like Michelangelo” he spurned the love of women. Michelangelo, by the by, hated the statue of Neptune and thought the sculptor had ruined the marble.  Beltramino, the sculptor in my story, identifies with the lonely statue condemned to walk the streets in search of his lover when the light of the full moon touches him.

Blurb for Juicy Bits:

What’s your favorite part of a romance? If you like the juicy bits—the moments when two or more sexy men can’t wait any longer to satisfy their cravings—then this anthology is for you. These stories of strangers, casual lovers, established couples, and friends who can no longer deny the passion between them push the limits and set the pages on fire. In a scorching collection of erotic scenes ranging from funny and sweet to hardcore kinky, the guys get right to the meat of the story. Whether they’re in the shower, in the locker room, at the office, on a moving train, or just connecting over the phone, they keep things steamy, sticky, and most of all, juicy.

What’s next for you?

I’m wrapping up a contemporary romantic suspense novella, and I hope to be submitting more to Dreamspinner’s short story anthologies.

Do you have any writing rituals or tips you swear by?

I have to write in the morning when the doors and windows to my subconscious are still open. And lots of coffee.

What are your favorite genres/subgenres to write? What about to read?

For both history and mystery/suspense come first—I used to be much more of a romance/sci-fi/fantasy reader when I was younger. I don’t read sci-fi anymore, and hardly any fantasy, though I love Game of Thrones. I’m becoming more interested in Gaslamp Romantic Fantasy, though, so that’s new.
