Is there anything better than a book boyfriend? They’re sexy when you’re in the mood, they know how to push all the right buttons, they never leave the top off the toothpaste…yeah, they’re perfect even when they’re not.

I’ve had many a book boyfriend over the years, from Captain Valentine Whitelaw in Laurie McBain’s “Wild Bells to the Wild Sky,” a personal favorite from way back when I was too young to be reading smutty romance, to Rhett Butler, to Joscelin Verreuil in the Kushiel’s Legacy books by Jacqueline Carey. 

Nothing like a smoldering alpha male to get your motor running and have you devouring page after page of story. There’s also nothing like coming up with a fantastic book boyfriend idea to keep an author up writing into the wee hours of the night.
