Top 10 Things You Don’t Know about Matt Seever
I’d like to welcome fellow Liquid Silver author Haley Whitehall to my blog this morning. Haley’s newest historical romance is out now!
Top 10 Things You Don’t Know about Matt Seever
1. His full name is Mathew Nicholas Seever.
2. He prefers working outdoors to being stuck working in an office.
3. He is a cat person.
4. During the War Between the States he was a Union sharpshooter.
5. His brother Boyd served in the Confederate army and he faced him on the battlefield.
6. In his free time Matt likes to swim and fish and play with his children.
7. He worked on a Mississippi steamer for four years.
8. He isn’t afraid of a fight and has been in his share of brawls.
9. He believes providence sent April to him the night they met.
10. He had feelings for April the first time he laid eyes on her. She played hard to get and it nearly drove him crazy.
Unjustly accused of stealing, nanny April Windmire is turned out on the streets without pay. With no place to go and no friends, she stows away on a Mississippi River steamboat. Her hopes to hide through the journey to St. Louis are dashed when a handsome white officer finds her. But instead of turning her in, he takes her to his private quarters where she fights her growing attraction to a man she cannot have. Matt Seever’s wife died four years ago, leaving him alone with two small mulatto children. But his job as an officer on the Queen Bee isn’t family friendly. He knows he needs a new wife, but no southern white woman will marry him. When April lands in his lap, his prayers are answered. Or are they? April’s not the trusting type and racial prejudice runs deep in post-Civil War Missouri. Just when Matt convinces April he loves her, his new family becomes a target and there’s no backing down from this fight. Together, April and Matt must brave heinous race prejudice crimes to find an enduring love.
Excerpt:
Matt approached April slowly, wondering if she was going to avoid him. She didn’t. He reached out and gently wrapped his hands around both of her arms, keeping space between them.
“Ever since I met you I’ve felt like you were trying to find fault with me.”
She didn’t respond, her lips curled in.
“I know I’m not perfect. No man is, but why are you always thinking the worst?”
“I don’t know,” she said in a shaky voice.
That was a damn lie, but he did not call her on it. She hadn’t told him a single thing about her past other than a bit about her previous jobs. Not one word about her personal life. Something had caused her to be this suspicious.
The tension between them was too strong to ignore. Even holding her at a distance stirred feelings inside him.
“Stop trying to push me away, April. It isn’t going to work. I live here. You live here. It is only natural…” He pulled her toward him until her chest was pressed against his. “…we have feelings for each other.”
Without giving her time to react he pressed his lips against hers. Fire blazed where they touched. Blood rushed to his cock and he feared she’d feel it pressed against her.

Interview with Logan Aban – Leader of the Airbornes: Guest Post Houston Havens
(Interview takes place shortly after Fay’s arrival)
Tell us a little something about yourself and your brothers?
Yeah, well, hmm. (Smirks, but shifts a shy gaze to the floor) I’m not sure what to say about myself. I’m a rather private man, but I’m no different than any other guy. I love women. As a polyandry polygamist I’m into erotic sex, and I’m the leader of our people, the Airbornes.
Now you might get more from my younger brother, Arlo, he’s a man of many words. He loves to write poetry and songs, I’m sure that smart-mouthed cuss could fill your ears full of … (clears throat) ah, … words … (A twinkle plays in his eyes before fading) Nawh, to be fair to Arlo, he writes beautiful words to express all the thoughts and emotions I can’t. The death of my mother and three fathers affected my ability to open up. It also forced me to grow up fast.
(The twinkle’s back with an arched brow in warning) Don’t ask Arlo this question, you might not be able to shut him up. Don’t get me wrong, I love my brother but … he’s still green behind the ears … doesn’t know when to remain silent and when to ask questions. He’s young. He’ll grow-up … hopefully, one of these days.
Now my brother Drakker, he’s a good man. I can count on him. My only concern with him is he pushes the limits on everything he does. When he leads his men into battle … he doesn’t sit on the hill watching them fight … he’s the first to engage and stands there in the midst of it all with his men. The idea of death doesn’t stop him. Sometimes, I think he challenges death to take him. It’s like he has some kind of private battle going on with the grim reaper. I see the same type of behavior when he’s engaged in sex. He challenges whatever he feels he can’t control and will do what he must to win. Nothing stops him … ever.
What do you love most about Fay?
Fay Avalon … the Dirt Dweller spy? (Rolls eyes) You must have been talking to Arlo already, to ask me such a question. Love? I’m surprised Arlo didn’t tell you … I don’t believe in love. We haven’t known her long enough for that.
Now, if you’re asking me what I find attractive about her … I’d tell you, I have to admire her strength. She’s a strong woman. More than her beauty it was her strength of Character that drew me to her like a bear to honey. But, that being said, I still feel there’s a lot about her I’ve yet to discover. She’s still hiding something from me … maybe it’s not by choice that she withholds information. It could be her unknown past. She was an orphan you know. She has a tattoo on the sole of her foot; I believe it’s a key to who she is, and where she comes from. My gut tells me Fay’s true destiny is yet to be revealed, but when it is … I’ll be there at her side.
Why do the Dirt Dwellers keep attacking you?
The motivation goes beyond greed, or political influence. Landen Reto, the ruler of the Dirt Dwellers thirsts for complete POWER. In truth, I think the idiot thinks he’s higher than God.
Can you tell us a little bit about your history with them?
I can tell you everything the Dirt Dwellers have been taught is a lie. Reto’s royal bloodline extends as far back in history as one can go. The Dirt Dwellers were originally living aboveground with the rest of us. But it was in 1776 when Reto’s relatives first started their elite secret society to manipulate, and herded the world governments and kingdoms like sheep. They created quite a stir and when rebuffed by those they so blatantly sought to control, they took a more devious means to fulfill their goals of world control. They went covert with all their deceitful plans to take over the world, in 1785. Since that time, they relentlessly placed their members into places of power until they created and controlled a matrix of lies that were designed to keep those out of their circle and the average citizen in financial slavery.
But they got cocky, turned arrogant and then got careless. Word of what they were attempting to do spread and they began fearing the backlash from the masses contesting the heavy taxations to fund their secretly built underground cities for their chosen few. So, they moved into the Underworld they’d created before finalizing the last step of their planned genocide of mankind.
Problem was … there were survivors and those supposed geniuses’ didn’t think far enough down the line … their Underworld utopia now suffers with the same problems they’d created on the surface of the Earth so long ago. So now, Reto and his government stupidly believe all they have to do is reversed their original process and take back the land they once tried to destroy. The only thing stopping them … are us, descendant of the original survivors. Rather than risking all their inhumane skeletons being exposed by us to the Dirt Dwellers and risk them turning on Reto and his government, it’s easier to kill us off.
What are 3 things you’d never leave home without?
Drakker, Arlo, and one day, I hope, the love of a wife.
How difficult is it to share your woman with 2 other men?
Unfortunately, we don’t have a woman … yet. But, we know no other way than that of a polyandry society. I find it hard to imagine how one man could handle a woman alone. Women are quite complicated with many sides to their personalities. I can’t fathom a woman’s heart and soul being truly fulfilled and satisfied by one man.
How do you make it work?
It’s called trust and honor. Without either one of those … it doesn’t matter what you’re trying to make work, you won’t succeed if you don’t have trust and honor.
You only have an hour to seduce Fay before you have to get back to work?
(laughs) What man can seduce his woman in an hour or less? It’s impossible. Foreplay takes up the first hour and a half. Oh, sorry. I must have misunderstood the question. You must be asking about Dirt Dweller men and their minuteman techniques.
Describe how you’d do it?
I’d have no clue how they do it, and I have no desire to find out. I like taking my time with a woman.
How do you balance your personal life with fighting for your world and your people?
I’m not sure that I do balance it all. There are times I feel … well, let’s just say … life is not easy.
Quickie Time
Best feature on a woman?
Her mind
Sweet and slow or hard and fast?
Sweet and slow
Handcuffs or ties?
Neither, my hands…I like to possess my woman on an intimate level…So, I’ll use my hands to hold her beneath me.
What are you hiding in your bedside table?
A locket my mother wore
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Voyeurism
What’s your secret talent?
Licking honey … the correct way … done right, a man can give his woman a multiple climax….several times. I’ve been told I’m a good honey licker. (smirks) and that’s why it takes more than an hour to make love to a woman.
Boxers, Briefs or Commando?
Briefs … want to see? (winks)

They must take her to their brother Logan Abán, leader of their people.

Location is Everything: Guest Post by Christy Gissendaner
Like they say in retail…location is everything. Which is why for my latest release, In Too Deep, I chose Tybee Island, Georgia as my setting and home to the fabulously wealthy Randolphs. I’ve never visited Tybee, so I drew on the internet and my experiences with other islands to create the playground for the rich and beautiful.
Tybee Island is located off the coast of Savannah, a city with elegance and Southern charm. Creating the Randolphs beach house was the stuff dreams are made of. For a beach lover like me, who would like nothing better than to live by the ocean, I poured over pictures found inside real estate brochures. I created a white, two-story mansion with large porches, an Olympic-sized pool, and a cute stone archway near the kitchens. (Just to give it character.)
That’s the joy of writing. I can take a simple idea and transform it into sheer perfection. And speaking of ideal, what could be better than a sexy alpha male with money to spare, unsurpassable good looks, and devotion to his family? Drake Randolph personifies perfection and Emma Anderson fell for him instantly. She’s waited years for him and finally she gets the chance.
Summer in Tybee Island heats up when Drake and Emma must fight to protect everything they love. Hope you enjoy the excerpt and the taste of Tybee Island as much as I enjoyed writing it!
He’ll risk everything for the love of one human.
Agreeing to be her good friend’s bridesmaid, Emma Anderson jets off to Tybee Island for the wedding. Her dress is perfect and her shoes are adorable, but her friend’s elegant beachside home hides an ancient secret…one that threatens to expose a secret society of werewolves.
Drake Randolph has watched his sister’s friend grow into a ravishing woman, but he’s always kept his distance. As the heir to the Randolph fortune and the alpha of the Secret Society of Savannah Lycanthropes, Drake cannot afford to draw the innocent little brunette into the dangerous lycan world.
Passion between them soon blazes hotter than the Georgia summer. But when the wrong woman is kidnapped to prevent the wedding of a lycan to a mortal, Drake must risk everything to save Emma from the ones who will see the downfall of all he holds dear.

Short Excerpt
Kicking off her white sandals, she descended a set of wooden stairs and stepped onto the sand. It squished between her toes, damp and still warm from the heat of the afternoon. The moon shone over the water, gleaming in the waves pulling toward the shore.
She stood at the water’s edge. The current sucked at her toes, burying them in sand, and she absorbed the soothing sounds of nature. She tipped her head back and closed her eyes. Perfect.
For a moment, she flashed back to her childhood. Not the endless summers she’d spent with the Randolphs. Earlier than that, long before her father’s death. A memory floated out of her grasp, on the edges of her subconscious but always moving away from her.
The water surrounded her ankles, the tendrils of the tide resembling a caress. As if someone touched her.
She opened her eyes, startled by the sensation.
A particularly large wave crashed around her legs. Thrown off-balance by the unexpected surge, she stumbled a bit until she regained her footing. Whatever memory she’d been chasing fled, replaced by the shock of the water splashing against her knees.
She returned her attention to the water. It eddied around her, the glow of the moonlight reflected in the tiny swirls of liquid. Bending down, she touched the surface and a jolt of energy poured through her. She lurched backward just as another wave crashed against her.
She moved closer to the shore, not afraid of the ocean but concerned by her reaction to it. Something wasn’t right.
The cry of a seagull jerked her back to the present. She glanced down and grimaced at the soaked bottom half of her dress. She didn’t mind as much as she should. At least the delightfully cool water eased some of the oppressive heat of the day.
The breeze, which had been strong all day, caressed her bare shoulders and ruffled her hair. She lifted her arms and twirled, letting out a tiny sound of pleasure.
At the end of her twirl, she caught sight of a figure standing alone on the patio. The moonlight wasn’t needed for her to recognize Drake. No one else had such a commanding presence. He tugged at her heart like the ocean’s current tugged at her ankles.

Diane Saxon’s New Release: Flynn’s Kiss
Blurb
Severely scarred during a disastrous mission, ex special forces Flynn Swann is home after three years of avoidance. By his own admission, he’s no good with women and the last thing he expects or wants is the attention of a curvy little brunette, who’s just passing through.
With apparently no fear or revulsion of his scarred face, the boisterous woman bounds into his life and destroys all hope of a quiet visit. It is obvious to literally everyone that she wants him—all of him.
Worse still, despite her atrocious taste in fashion and Stetsons, she appears to have won the hearts of the entire town.
Scientist Liberty Sophia Glennon is on a mission to find a man before she has to return to the loneliness of the New Zealand outback where she has already spent eighteen lonely months doing research.
A ticking hormone bomb, Liberty feels time is running away with her. Outwardly she is a bouncing ball of over-confidence, but inside she is still a frightened little girl with horrific memories of her childhood and a desperate need to be liked.
Completely unfazed by his external scars, her seduction of Flynn is not so difficult, but follow-through proves painful as Liberty realises Flynn’s wounds run further than just skin deep.
With apparently nothing in common but their passionate attraction, how will these two damaged souls deal with each other’s fear of rejection?
Excerpt
From the darkened protection of the corner of the room, Flynn watched the curvy little brunette with the bubbly hair bounce around, microphone in hand, wailing her heart out with obvious enjoyment. The sight of her large rounded breasts as they jiggled merrily along with the tune heated his stomach and threatened to move lower. She’d flicked several glances in his direction, and each time she did, he sank farther into the protective shadows by the wall, conscious she couldn’t see the left side of his face too clearly in the blue-hued lighting. Cute and friendly she might seem, but he knew from experience she would change her tune once she got a load of his scars. Women always did.
At the age of eighteen he’d considered himself a lady-killer—as most guys did—but he had been full of himself, knowing he was a good-looking son of a bitch. Never had a single problem or gave a second thought. If he wanted, he took, with great enjoyment and relish. With his unusually pale blue, bold eyes, dark brown hair, and chiseled features, he’d caught the attention of women of all ages. The fact he’d been brought up riding rodeo and working a ranch since he was born just added into the long, lean tone of his body. What nature hadn’t given him naturally, hard work and a tough upbringing had molded to perfection. When he’d joined the Special Forces, he’d honed it beyond perfection. He wasn’t overly tall, just under six feet, but his entire physique gave him presence. As a young man, he’d known it and reveled in it. Ego had driven him hard.
A golden boy, given the gift of a beautiful face, a bright mind, and a naturally lean body. He’d been destined to marry the glamour girl, crowned king and queen of the prom…everyone in town believed he had a long and happy marriage ahead of him with Rachel. Personally, he’d had a few qualms about the woman’s intelligence, but at the time and with the shallowness of youth, he had wallowed in her perfect beauty and the envy of the other boys. Celebrations had been wild at their engagement party before he went off to training camp. Faithful, he had returned to her time and again after each assignment. He’d had ambition, and she’d had plans. The pair were well-suited.
It didn’t matter. It all changed with the slash of a knife. His looks were destroyed, his mind rebelled, and the glamour girl ran screaming for the hills. He’d had the same reaction from women ever since.
He tipped the bottle of beer up to his mouth and stared down the length of it at the pretty brunette. Her breasts were interesting—got a nice little heat going in the pit of his belly—but his preference was her pert little ass as she swayed in perfect rhythm to the song she was murdering. She caught his eye again, gave a broad smile and a twitch of her eyebrows. A definite invitation.
He drew farther into the shadows.
